Course Description

The COTY 12 month 10932NAT Certificate IV in Yoga Therapy Teaching course is one of Australia’s highest industry-recognised qualifications in yoga teaching. This course is designed to develop your personal understanding of yogic physiology, Japanese Yoga Therapy postures, and traditional asanas. This knowledge is extended with practical training in teaching Japanese meridian yoga to a group.

The 10932 NAT Certificate IV in Yoga Therapy Teaching qualification is registered with Yoga Australia Level 1 and is an ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) Nationally Accredited Course and Training Program. This ensures students receive the highest level of professional training and education.

This course includes a high level of face-to-face learning (including digital) and supervised teaching experience in an established yoga college and health care centre. You will be guided and trained in the most important aspects of teaching to a group and meeting client needs, physical restrictions, pregnancy, development, and age-restricted requirements.  Blended digital classroom and online Yoga Teacher Training option available.

Assessments

This is Vocational Education Training (VET), much like you would receive if you started a new job. Assessments for this course are conducted using a combination of realistic simulated workplace tasks (face-to-face and digital live streaming options), supervised demonstrations, class teaching, knowledge quizzes, research projects and professional discussions.

Entry Requirements

Our entry requirements are simple. Bring your love of yoga, one year’s personal practice and desire in helping others with basic language, literacy, and numeracy skills, and become more than just a yoga instructor – become a group Yoga Therapy Teacher!

Qualification

On successfully completing this course, you will be awarded a nationally recognised 10932NAT Certificate IV in Yoga Therapy Teaching, which correlates with AQF Level 4.

Course Scope

The role of a group Yoga Therapy Teacher requires the application of broad, factual and technical knowledge in the teaching of yoga therapy to groups and coordinates the operational components of a working yoga studio.

Course graduates working as a group Yoga Therapy Teacher will exercise autonomous decision making and apply a broad range of cognitive, technical, and communication skills to complete routine and non-routine activities. This includes engaging with yoga participants and planning and teaching group-based yoga therapy classes.
